Current - Oakland H-1 Honey
Cultivated at 1,100 MASL, the H-1 hybrid cultivar undergoes honey processing to yield a cup noted for its balanced, rich chocolate and nutty undertones, complemented by a distinct sweetness.
Oakland H-1 Honey originates from Finca Oakland, situated in the nutrient-rich volcanic soils of El Salvador’s Balsamo range. Managed by the Borgonovo family, whose heritage in coffee production spans five centuries, this coffee is a product of their dedication to quality and innovation. The honey processing method includes allowing the beans to ferment for 6-8 hours before drying on traditional clay brick patios, a technique that enhances their inherent chocolaty and nutty flavours with a touch of sweetness. The Borgonovo family have developed significant social responsibility initiatives including substantial investments in worker welfare and environmental sustainability which have earned the farm recognition, such as the “Marca Positiva” Corporate Responsibility award.
